Kreeger Museum Participates in "Walk to End Alzheimer's"![]() On Saturday, November 5, The Kreeger Museum participated in the 2011 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on the National Mall, the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s Disease. The Kreeger Museum participated in honor of our ground-breaking art and music program Conversations at The Kreeger Museum: A Program for Individuals Living with Alzheimer’s Disease and their Caregivers. Conversations programs are regularly offered four times a month at the museum and provide a much needed forum for dialogue, sharing, and connection for families affected by AD. The Kreeger is committed to supporting Conversations and is working with leading health care professionals, research scientists and neuropsychologists from Georgetown University, NIH, Howard University, and others. The Kreeger Museum is the first in Washington, DC to offer a positive and nourishing museum experience to people afflicted by this complex disease. It is an amazing initiative, timely and after two years of development, it is fully operational. Conversations at The Kreeger Museum continues to require funding. For inquiries about the program or information about becoming a sponsor, please contact Program Manager Derya Samadi at 202-337-3050 x18 or conversations@kreegermuseum.org. |
