PLEASE NOTE: Parts of Foxhall Road may be closed throughout the year, due to construction. In the event of a detour, please follow the posted signs, which will guide you to the Museum through an alternate route. If you have any questions, please call 202-337-3050 x10.

Key Bridge: Take Key Bridge to M Street. Be in left lanes on the bridge. Turn left onto M St. Go past entrance to Georgetown University. At traffic light where road forks, bear right, going up hill. That is Foxhall Rd. Continue north. Cross W St. Museum will be on right side.

Chain Bridge: Take Chain Bridge to Canal Rd. Turn right on Canal Rd. At first traffic light, turn left onto Arizona Ave. Continue to "T" in road. Turn right onto Loughboro Road, this road becomes Nebraska Ave. At next light, turn right onto Foxhall Rd. Continue on Foxhall. After crossing Dexter St., the museum will be on left.

Go south on Connecticut Ave. Turn right on Nebraska Ave. (Gas station is on far right corner of Connecticut and Nebraska) Stay on Nebraska through Tenley Cir. Stay on Nebraska through Ward Cir. in front of American University. Continue through two traffic lights. At third light, turn left onto Foxhall Rd. Continue on Foxhall. After crossing Dexter St., the museum will be on left.

I-95 south to I-495. Take I-495 west toward Silver Spring. Take the Connecticut Ave. exit. At bottom of ramp turn left onto Connecticut Ave. (towards DC) Continue south on Connecticut Ave. Continue for several miles. (You will come to Chevy Chase Circle. Go ½ way around circle to continue on Connecticut Ave.) Continue for several more blocks. Turn right on Nebraska Ave. (Gas station on far right corner of Connecticut and Nebraska) Stay on Nebraska through Tenley Cir. Stay on Nebraska through Ward Cir. in front of American University. Continue through two traffic lights. At third light, turn left onto Foxhall Rd. Continue on Foxhall. After crossing Dexter St., the museum will be on left.

Go north on Massachusetts Ave. At Ward Circle, in front of American University, go æ around circle onto Nebraska Ave. Go straight through two traffic lights. At third light, turn left onto Foxhall Rd. Continue on Foxhall. After crossing Dexter St., the museum will be on left.

Alternate Route: Go to M St. heading toward Georgetown. Go past entrance to Georgetown University. At traffic light where road forks, bear right, going up hill. That is Foxhall Rd. Continue north. Cross W St. Museum will be on right side.

Although The Kreeger Museum is located in a residential area of Washington that is not convenient to bus or Metro, it is possible to arrive by public transportation. Sidewalks have recently been added along Foxhall Road.

By Metro:The nearest Metro stop is Tenleytown, on the Red line. When you arrive at the Tenleytown Metro stop you will exit onto Wisconsin Ave. From this location the easiest way of reaching the museum is by taxi. You can also take a bus or walk.

Walking from Tenleytown: If you choose to walk please be aware that it could take as long as 30 to 45 minutes and that there are places where there are no sidewalks. Take Wisconsin headed south until you reach Tenley Circle. At Tenley Circle turn right onto Nebraska Ave. headed southwest. Follow Nebraska through Ward Circle and past American University. Once past American University look for the intersection with Foxhall Road. Turn left onto Foxhall Road, headed south. The museum is located approximately one half mile down Foxhall on your left-hand side.

By Bus:The D6 bus is the easiest way to arrive at the museum by public transport. The D6 bus, which stops in Dupont Circle (at the corner of P and 22nd), among other places, provides access to The Kreeger Museum from the downtown area. Take the D6 headed West, toward Sibley Hospital, and get off at the corner of Reservoir Road and Foxhall Road, not far beyond Georgetown Medical Center. Walk up the hill on Foxhall Road (there are few sidewalks on this part of Foxhall) approximately half a mile. The museum is located on the right-hand side just after The Field School.
