'Tis the season for Winter Watercolors in the Sculpture Garden. Join teaching artist Cheryl Edwards for a family-friendly workshop in painting the garden plein air (outdoors). Participants will learn the history of plein air painting before creating original landscapes. As an added bonus each participant will also leave with a handmade gift. This workshop welcomes all ages but is recommended for artists ages 7 and above.


About the Artist 

Cheryl D. Edwards, an African American artist was born in 1954 in Miami Beach, Florida. She began her studies in art during 1988 in New York City in a class at the Art Student League taught by Ernest Crichlow. She has been living in Washington, D.C. for the past 27 years.

She has exhibited in many shows in Washington, D.C., New York, Virginia, Maryland, Miami, Texas, Pennsylvania, Rotterdam, Germany, Monaco, and Hong Kong. Her medium is oil, ink, printmaking, mixed media, and acrylics. Please visit www.cheryledwards.org for more information.

Please note that this class will be held outdoors. Please bring a water bottle and dress accordingly.

In the event of inclement weather the class will move to our studio space indoors. Limited parking is available on site.
