Gallery Security and Event Set-up

Hours: 10:30am-4:30pm, Saturday
$20/hour

Gallery security personnel will provide a welcoming presence to our visitors while ensuring the safety of the artwork and the building. This role also includes performing set up and breakdown for various museum events.

Duties:

• Provide security in galleries and respond to visitors’ questions about the building or collection.
• Remind visitors of gallery rules to ensure the safety of the artwork, staff, and other guests.
• Event Set-up and Breakdown: Assist with setting up and breaking down museum events, including the monthly Jazz at The Kreeger series. Responsibilities include transporting stacks of chairs on dollies, arranging approximately 40 chairs, but not limited to that number, and restacking/returning to storage at the conclusion of each event.

Required Qualifications:
• Previous experience in art gallery, museum, or similar institution.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for three hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to contribute to a positive and collaborative culture.
