Painting Collection![]() Abraham Rattner Storm Composition No. 2 American, 1893-1978 During the course of his career, Rattner’s style has changed several times. His early work showed Cubist and Futurist influences. After 1939, when he returned to the U.S. from Europe, he developed a highly personal style, using a very bright palette and often depicting biblical themes. During the 1950’s his work became increasingly abstract and his brushwork was both looser and more powerful, as in this picture. - From the catalogue, The Collection of Mr. and Mrs. David Lloyd Kreeger, Editor Margy P.
